While I don't usually read too many suspense type mysteries and tend to stick to romances, I got this book on the recommendation of a friend and really liked it!It was very exciting and was making me so uncomfortable and angry until I hit the twist midway through. Then I couldn't read fast enough to find out how it would all play out in the end and oh boy...I was not disappointed.
Some may figure out what's really going on before the final chapters but you might keep second-guessing yourself anyway...and that's all the fun! Give it try if you like edge-of-your-seat thrillers.

Remember Me The gripping psychological thriller with a jawdropping twist eBook Lynda Renham Reviews
Oddly enough, this was the third book I've read recently about new female friendships that go south in a big way. In each of them, one-half of the new friendship team instantly sets off alarms in me, although the other woman seems oblivious and welcomes the new relationship. Remember Me starts out with the same premise. Sharni and Tom move in next door to Clare and Chris and their baby, Ben. Sharni stops in to borrow a vase and then invites Clare and Chris over for drinks. Sharni is a professional photographer and Clare works part-time at a children's nursery school. Sharni immediately accelerates the new acquaintanceship with offers of photographing Ben, and then of caring for Ben while Clare works. Clare accepts this offer in order to save some money. My first thought was, "Don't do this, Clare," because Sharni seems to be getting overly fixated on Ben. Finally, Sharni's behavior and several unsettling incidents set off alarm bells in Clare, and Clare embarks on her own risky investigation into the details of Sharni's life. What she discovers shocks her, but no one, including Chris and even Helen, her friend from work, takes her seriously. Clare has a problem with prescription sedatives and her increasingly erratic behavior is chalked up to this. Interspersed in the narrative are transcripts of sessions between patient and psychiatrist, although the patient's identity is never disclosed. The book starts as a first person narrative by Clare; it switches halfway through to a first person narrative by Sharni. The events described by Clare in the first half are re-told, but this time from Sharni's point of view. At this point, it becomes a contest as to which woman's perspective is true and which is skewed. The two main characters, Clare and Sharni, are very well-drawn, as are the peripheral characters, Tom and Chris, as well as Clare's friend, Helen. I was torn back and forth trying to determine which woman was rational and which was an unbalanced mental case. Although psychological thrillers are my preferred genre and I've been reading them almost exclusively for years, I have to admit that I didn't see the end coming in this one. I was totally surprised at the outcome, and found the ending completely satisfying in a "happy ever after way". All questions were answered and there were no loose ends. This is a definite 5 star book!
Wow, was story a wild ride! You never knew while reading this who was insane and who wasn't! Not even at the end did you Really know what was going on. A Really Great Book!
Loved this book! Mind games, death, who is your friend? You THINK you might have this one figured out, surprise! No one believes you, not even your husband. This is very good, this one you can't put down, till the end.
This book was just okay as it kept going back to the mind of the different characters.. They kept going back over and over the same conversation and the same situation but from the minds of each character. Became very boring going over the same stuff again. Just an okay book but just wanted to get to the end to see how it ended. Was not a gripping psychological thriller that I thought it could have been.
Maybe like 3.75. A little slow to start, but the pace picks up. To be honest, the first half I struggled a little because I didn't like Clare, she really began grating on my nerves. Without spoiling it too much, I think the second half of the book helped qualify whether those feelings were justified or not.
I kept reading reviews about the twist at the end, I would say the twist is more or less revealed in the middle, when the book switches up some. Maybe I was just focused on trying to figure it out that I guessed correctly by about 55% of the way in, however, that didn't make it less enjoyable. The switch of plot gave me a new perspective and insight into what was going on, confirming my suspicions.
The plot is one of those where you know something bigger was underlying the situation by what they keep eluding to, so while you're reading, you're trying to analyze everything to put the pieces together. The very end felt a bit rushed, and I would liked to have seen a bit more of the fallout, but overall, it worked.
I won't say much more than that, so I don't spoil it, just that unlike other books I've read recently that are called psychological thriller, but really just unfold a story, this book definitely qualifies as such, it hits both psychology and thriller, and it doesn't get too lost in meaningless details.
***********WARNING***********SPOILER BELOW***************
One plot hole that bothered me........
How come Clare didn't recognize Tom? I can look past her not recognizing Sharni, but she states that she watched as Sharni and her husband "neglected" Nathan. If she was stalking them so much, why didn't she recognize him?
Also, Chris, seriously? Did he not try to verify Clare's story? I find that hard to believe, and that was part of the fallout I thought was missing. I would have liked to hear from him, to understand his thoughts.
This book is one of the best psychological thrillers I've read so far!! It kept me on pins and needles trying to figure out who was the crazy one!! I highly recommend reading this book!!
This is the first book I've read by Lynda Renham and it was a dilly! The story drew me in with the first sentence and I could barely put it down until I reached the end.
I thought I knew where it was going but boy, was I ever wrong. If you're a fan of psychological thrillers, grab this one, make sure you have plenty of time and enjoy this really excellent book. Highly recommended!
